Scenario
The European Union has had considerable influence and impact on the United Kingdom and business and organisations based there. Over the next ten years the EU will probably grow, the UK will more than likely enter the European Single Currency and more and more EU policies will impact on the UK.
You are working for FASTEC, a marketing consultancy firm based in Sheffield. You are currently assigned to the Bristol Office. They have been approached by Bristol City Council to prepare a booklet on doing business in Europe for businesses and organisations in Bristol.

Task
You must produce a guide to doing business in Europe for UK based organisations based on one specific UK organisation. This organisation can be one used in a previous assignment or you may use your own business as part of this analysis but ensure that it is relevant and allows fulfillment of the assessment criteria. Please consult your tutor if necessary.
Your guide book will need to include the following sections
- an explanation of the main features of the European Union • an analysis of the impact of two EU policies on your chosen organisation
- an analysis of the arguments for and against UK entry in Economic and Monetary Union
- an analysis of the challenges and opportunities to a range of UK businesses of the possible enlargement of EU member states.

The student has analysed the challenges and opportunities to UK businesses of enlargement of EU member states and has illustrated this with real-life examples.
In order to achieve a Distinction for this assignment.
